Hi there,
The issue is that Coingecko only listed $DEZ on 2024-06-23 so there is no available price history before this date.
For any $DEZ transactions before this date, you will need to enter the price manually by clicking on Value underneath the amount.
I have thousands of these transactions. I need to be able to set the value on large batches of them at a time. Can you make this option available?
Setting a manual value for thousands of transactions at the same time isn’t possible. Even so, you would have to specify a value for each day at least.
In your case I would first try to determine which of these transactions are actually taxable and relevant to the desired tax report. Then I would export those transactions so that they can be converted to a CSV with the Coinpanda Generic format. In this CSV you can then specify the values in the Net Worth column.
I see you have a lot of $DEZ going back and forth in Send and Receive transactions, but it’s not clear to me what their actual purpose was. So this could potentially be reduced down into the total amounts of $DEZ sent that are actually important for the tax calculation. That would save you from having to specify a bunch of manual values.
I exported all your $DEZ transactions to a CSV, as well as all $DEZ transactions before 2024/06/23 but I can’t send that to you via the forum.
If all these Send/Receive transactions are simply transferring your $DEZ in and out of liquidity pools then they are not taxable, so these transactions would technically not need to be imported.
Omitting all of those, and just focusing on the transactions where you actually acquired more $DEZ would be the most sensible option for you.
All the Trade transactions where you acquired $DEZ were paid with WETH, so that means we were able to derive the cost basis from the WETH price (which we do have). So you might not need to enter any manual values at all. You could simply set all the Send/Receive transactions to Ignore.
Though doing that for thousands of transactions wouldn’t be practical either. I could do that from my end though. Just let me know how you want to proceed.
Thank you for all your attention. You’ve given me some options.
$DEZ is a token used in a racing game…so every send is a race entry, every receive is a race payout. So…it’s technically gambling and even though much of it is micro amounts, i’d guess it’s subject to tax.
I did noticed the WETH to DEZ trades, and my thought is I would peg the value to a straight line trend between WETH to DEZ transactions by date. Hope that makes sense.
So I’m thinking my plan will be to download CSV of all DEZ transactions missing a price, and input prices onto the CSV.
I need help figuring out how to downloading those transactions into a CSV value. And then how to re-import those transactions, and then clear or ignore the 3000 transactions that they are replacing.
So depending on whether you win/lose the received amount is going to be greater/smaller than what you deposited? If that’s the case then the missing price data makes it a lot more complicated.
In that case you can probably subtract the received amount from the sent amount and then import the difference as a Send or Receive transaction with the Realized P&L label.
But at that point you basically need a Python script to calculate all of that correctly by matching the TxHash or something like that
I’ll send the CSVs to your email
Thank you for your help. Will need some additional assistance once I’m ready import the CSV, and then ignore/replace all the missing price transactions.
If you received my email, you can reply to that one and we can continue from there
I never got the email. I’ve checked my spam folder, nothing there either. Can you resend please?
I sent it from Intercom, but I’ll resend it from my email directly
